We Love the Smell of Bookstores

Last night we went out for dinner to Chipotle in our desperate attempt to find something similar to Cafe Rio in OK.  We had never been there, and it was pretty good, but just not as great as that famous pork barbacoa salad, and we definitely didn't hear the familiar shouts of "free meal!" or "extra meat!"  It was fun though, we always love trying new restaurants/food and Hep is a hungry little virus.

On the way home we stopped at the Borders just down the street.  That store location was closing and we happened to have a gift card (left over from our wedding!).  They still had some good books left and we spent about an hour perusing the aisles.  John got a prep/study guide for his first set of boards next summer and a book with training plans for cyclists that don't have a lot of time (that describes us perfectly!).  I got this AMAZING giant book about baking.  I love it and can't wait to try all the recipes in it!  Any friends are more than welcome to join me in enjoying all the treats - there's only so much that the three of us can eat...

This afternoon I caught Hep drooling over the decadent desserts in my new book.

For all my OKC friends, everything in the store is 40 - 60% off, so if you like books (0r even if you just like the smell of new books...) you should check it out!  It's the Borders on NW Expressway, by Integris-Baptist.

Happy reading/baking!

Spring Break! Woo!

It's always a party with Hepatitis!  Last week was our spring break (thank goodness), and we had some fun adventures with Hep.

We started things off with a nice bike ride around Lake Hefner.

It also happened to be the WAC championship game - GO AGGIES!

Then we went down to Dallas, TX.  It was a long car ride (especially for hep), but we made it.

We had lots of fun with the Dangerfield's!  (Hep sure enjoyed the season finale of the Bachelor... "The most exciting season finale yet!")

We also got to hang out with the Schaack's! (Hep stayed home.... although I think he would have enjoyed the JFK Museum Gift Shop.)

Hep came to the Dallas temple and really enjoyed the beautiful weather and flowers!

John, me, and our little Hep did some shopping including the Allen Factory Stores, Ikea (of course!), and the Container Store - which is exactly how it sounds, a store full of CONTAINERS!

On the way back to OKC we stopped in the Arbuckle "Mountains" to camp overnight at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.  Even though everything was still dead, the weather was great and the lake was beautiful!

All in all it was a fun trip.  Good to get away and just have a change of scenery.  Then Monday it was back to reality - at least for John and me.

But Ronni and Marty knew how much Hep loves basketball and were nice enough to give us their tickets for the Thunder/Jazz game last night.  We had a blast!

Love me some caramel apples!

Walking downtown we found a fun creature friend for Hep.... and John....

Needless to say, it's been an eventful couple of weeks!

Starting our Journey

I've thought about starting a blog for a while now.  I guess because that's what you're supposed to do when you get married and such, right?  Then we moved away from family and friends and I thought that was a good enough excuse.  What a great way for old friends and family to keep up on the goings-on of the Framptons.  But I never did it because I felt a bit sheepish, like I didn't have anything creative to add to the blogging world.  Then John got hepatitis ("Hep").  At first it was just something we'd throw around and leave in random places around the house for the other person to find, but then we came up with this great idea - to share our adventures with hepatitis!  So... here we are... living day to day with Hep.   More adventures to come...
